This impressive new build garden transformation took a blank-canvas plot — bare soil, basic turf, and no usable outdoor structure — and turned it into a beautifully considered outdoor living space. Starting with precise ground preparation using a Bobcat mini excavator and laser level to achieve perfect falls and alignment, the project delivered two distinct paved zones finished in large-format porcelain: a wraparound pathway running the full length of the house in a cool light grey, and a warm cream/buff-toned entertaining patio positioned at the rear. The centrepiece of the build is a bespoke freestanding timber pergola — constructed from heavy-section pressure-treated posts and rafters with chamfered detailing — creating a generous covered seating area that casts dramatic shadow lines across the patio below. Planted borders running the full width of the rear fence were stocked with young trees and low-level planting to establish long-term privacy and greenery, while a decorative gravel bed adds texture on the side return. The result is a structured, low-maintenance garden that gives a brand new home an immediate sense of character, privacy, and outdoor purpose — ready to grow into over the coming seasons.
